Recording PrimetimeEvents With Sky+

Primetime are an independent Pay-Per-View provider operating on the Sky platform and as such the recording of Primetime Events is available under the Sky platform rules for Sky+ recording. These rules are as follows:

You must be previously registered to the service you wish to record

You must have an active phone line connected to you Sky+/Sky HD box

You must purchase the event and set up the recording from the ‘Box Office’ menu

These rules are the same for all pay-per-view providers operating on the platform, including Sky themselves. If you meet these criteria and wish to record a Primetime event please follow the instructions below:

Press ‘Box Office’ on your Sky remote

Select Sports

Scroll down to the event you wish to record and press the red record button

You will see the message ‘Checking Purchase Information’ followed by a screen confirming the name and price of the event

Press select to confirm your order

Your order will then be added to your Sky planner

If you are registering for Primetime for the first time or do not have a phone line connected to your box we will need to send a direct signal to your dish to unlock the event, this signal does block Sky+ recording. This is the case when you purchase pay-per-view events over the phone with Sky themselves.

We use a direct signal on your first registration to ensure there are no delays to you receiving your signal when ordering on the day of an event. The direct signal is an instant signal meaning you can purchase on the night of the event and be guaranteed viewing. A registration signal to allow
Sky+ recording can take up to 24 hours to be received and this may cause you to miss your event if the direct signal is not used. You will however be able to record all future events following the instructions above.

If you wish to record your first event with Primetime you may call customer services directly on 0844 8429 844 and inform the advisor you wish to register only as you wish to record the event. We will then only send a registration signal only and you will need to set up the recording, and purchase the event, following the instructions above once your signal has been received. If you do this you must call a minimum of 24 hours before the live event otherwise we will not be able to guarantee your viewing and you may still be charged the full price.
